Cabinet EDE International is an engineering and consulting company founded in 2001 and headquartered in Dakar, Senegal. The company operates across environmental health, water and sanitation, waste management and related infrastructure sectors, providing technical studies, project design and implementation support for public and private sector. Within its portfolio of solutions, Cabinet EDE International has developed a household-scale biogas system focused on the treatment and valorization of organic waste. The system converts organic waste from domestic and market environments into biogas for cooking and mineral-rich biofertilizer for agricultural use, addressing challenges related to organic pollution, waste management and access to biomass-based energy. The biogas unit is designed to operate with both solid and liquid inputs and uses mold-cast construction to ensure gas and water sealing. Unlike conventional fixed-dome digesters, the system does not require specialized technical skills to install, is easy to maintain and is designed for long-term operation, with an estimated lifespan exceeding 30 years. The technology has been piloted in high-organic-waste settings, including Senegal’s central fish market. Through this solution, Cabinet EDE International applies its engineering and environmental expertise to decentralized waste-to-energy applications, supporting circular economy approaches in household and community-scale contexts.
