About Cleantech Egypt

Cleantech Egypt is implemented by UNIDO in partnership with the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, with funding from the Green Climate Fund.

The project strengthens Egypt’s cleantech ecosystem by supporting startups, SMEs and MSMEs to develop, commercialize and scale up clean technology solutions.

Structured Acceleration Support

The selected startups will have the opportunity to participate in the Middle East Innovation Week (MEIW) / Techne Summit 2026, providing direct access to one of the region’s leading innovation ecosystems. Through this experience, startups will benefit from:

- Exposure to investors, corporates, and ecosystem stakeholders;
- Curated networking and potential business matchmaking opportunities;
- Increased visibility through startup showcases and promotional activities;
- Access to keynote sessions, workshops, and industry discussions;
- Opportunities to build partnerships, explore market opportunities, and expand their professional network;
- Potential pitching opportunities to present their solutions to potential investors and demonstrate the progress achieved through the accelerator programme.

This experience complements the accelerator by connecting startups with the wider innovation ecosystem and supporting their growth beyond the programme.

GCIP Global Network Access

Become part of the broader Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) ecosystem and join its growing alumni network, connecting with an international community of cleantech entrepreneurs, experts, ecosystem leaders, institutional partners, and fellow innovators built through more than a decade of global cleantech innovation programming. Who should apply?

  • Startups and MSMEs operating in Egypt.
  • Teams developing innovative cleantech or sustainability-focused solutions.
  • Ventures with proof of concept, prototype, MVP, pilot, early revenues or customer validation.
  • Solutions with strong scalability, market impact and climate impact potential.
  • Women-led and youth-led ventures are strongly encouraged to apply.

Application process

Applications will undergo a competitive evaluation process conducted by experts and programme partners. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to interviews, pitching sessions or additional assessment stages.

Early Bird Opportunity

Submit Sections 1–4 by 1 August 2026 to be eligible for exclusive online pre-accelerator sessions from 2–8 August 2026.
