Nepser A.S.

Water Efficiency

Nepser has developed FloCatch, a passive bubble-based waste collection system designed for marinas, ports and rivers. The system addresses floating and submerged macro plastic waste by using a surface bubble curtain that operates without compressors. Instead, it leverages oxygen dissolved in water and the Bernoulli principle to create a continuous barrier that directs waste to a collection unit, where it is automatically transferred to shore. FloCatch is a permanent, low-cost solution suitable for both stagnant and flowing waters. It can be deployed as a defensive line in port berths to prevent pollution, including oil spills, from spreading to open waters. The system is especially suited for preventing plastics from reaching areas like the Pacific Garbage Patch by intercepting them early. Compared to alternatives like SEABIN or conveyor boats, FloCatch operates with lower operational costs and greater efficiency in real-world aquatic environments.

PALGAE

Advanced Materials & Chemicals

Palgae is a Turkish startup that has developed PaBio 1.0, Türkiye’s first carbon-zero mulch film derived from microalgae. Designed to replace conventional LDPE-based agricultural mulch films, PaBio 1.0 addresses pollution, microplastic accumulation and declining soil health associated with petrochemical plastics. The film is fully biodegradable in both soil and water, enhancing soil fertility and water retention as it dissolves, while eliminating the need for post-harvest plastic removal. Produced from sustainable and biocompatible raw materials, the film also contributes to circular resource use by incorporating agricultural wastewater in its production. Rich in salt, nitrogen and phosphorus, microalgae-based components act as a natural fertilizer. PaBio 1.0 is especially effective in low-salinity soils, helping regulate pH, retain moisture and improve overall soil quality.

Raymare

Waste Beneficiation

Raymare is a Turkish agri-biotechnology company developing bio-based inputs for sustainable crop production. The company focuses on valorizing agricultural residues through circular economy approaches to improve resource efficiency and resilience in agriculture. Raymare’s innovation is a biostimulant derived from hazelnut shell extract, combined with a chitosan-based controlled-release system. Hazelnut shells, which are commonly burned for energy generation and disposal, are processed into a functional input that supports plant growth while reducing associated emissions. The formulation is designed to enhance crop performance under water-stressed conditions by improving water retention and nutrient availability in soil. The biostimulant incorporates nanotechnology to enable controlled and sustained release of active compounds, reducing nutrient leaching and degradation. This allows for prolonged nutrient uptake by plants and more efficient use of water and inputs over time. The solution is applicable across a range of crops and farming systems where drought stress, input efficiency and soil health are critical considerations. Raymare’s technology supports agricultural productivity while reducing reliance on synthetic inputs and promoting the reuse of agricultural waste. It also aligns with Türkiye’s Green Growth Technology Roadmap and the EU Green Deal objectives by promoting circular economy principles in agriculture.
