R.Com Production LLC

Water Efficiency

CoPack is an innovative circular economy project developed by R.Com.Production LLC in Moldova, focused on transforming cotton and textile waste into biodegradable molded-fiber packaging as a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic packaging. The project addresses two major environmental challenges: the growing volume of textile waste and the continued dependence on fossil-based, single-use plastics.

CoPack combines waste valorization with resource-efficient manufacturing, including water recirculation and solar-assisted air drying to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The project aims to demonstrate a scalable low-carbon production model that creates economic value from waste while supporting Moldova's transition toward a circular and more sustainable economy.

CoPack was selected as a winner of GCIP Moldova 2024 and received grant support for project development and pilot implementation. The project has also participated in PFAN and is currently progressing toward pilot production, with the first production equipment being procured. In the future, CoPack aims to scale production, replace plastic packaging, create green jobs, and expand its sustainable packaging solutions to regional and European markets.
