SmartEnergyTree is a solar and wind powered smart tree with Wi-Fi. It is an energy installation with self-cleaning systems, rainwater collection and irrigation of surrounding plants, Wi-Fi distribution, electric vehicle sockets and many other functions. It is equipped with an anti-vandal self-cleaning honeycomb solar panel made of impact-resistant polycarbonate and a new type of modular wind turbine with air pockets that allows it to rotate even in light winds.

The Smart Tree allows the distribution of Wi-Fi within a radius of 150 meters, charge batteries of electric vehicles and smartphones, information about the time, temperature, and humidity, can broadcast advertisements on a LED display, can heat nearby benches and sidewalks (eliminating ice), can illuminate the installation site, and can conduct video surveillance on the area.

The goal of the project and the tasks it solves are to reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and reduce losses during power outages.

ALGBIO

ALGBIO treats wastewater sewage and captures CO2 with microalgae to produce biofuels, bioplastics, biomaterials and generate carbon credits. Algae are desirable as a source of biofuel as they have a high yield of oil and can flourish on land where other plants can not be produced. As plants, algae can grow with carbon dioxide, sunlight, and nutrients. ALGBIO harvests biomass and turns it into gasoline or black coal, which can be sent to refineries to be converted into chemical or transport fuel. With adequate research and development, biofuel, bioplastic and biomaterials from algae could be a price-effective alternative for petroleum based options.

ALGBIO’s circular economy model provides zero waste policy by maximizing resource utilization and minimizing waste with bioplastic production from algal waste too. Biolive produces bioplastic raw materials such as Bio-PE, Bio-PP, and Bio-ABS in scale-up and next-gen materials such as plant-based leather and also offers sustainable solutions. Biolive’s raw materials are always cheaper than other bioplastics such as PLA, PHA, etc, and a little bit more expensive than petroleum-based plastics.

Their main product, BioPura, is a 100% bio-based and biodegradable bioplastic raw material which is produced from olive pits. BioPura is FDA-approved and also has some certifications regarding fully bio-based material by DIN Certco. BioPura’s benefits are bifold. From the olive industry perspective, Biolive closes the loop by upcycling their industrial waste which has no food value and no use area in any industry.
